Bonus: Having fun with colour!
Today I have a special video for you to watch and an optional homework assignment.
One of the things I always used to find intimidating was colour. I hate colour theory. I dreaded someone pulling out a colour wheel. But I also knew that I loved colour and I wanted my own way to master it.
Now I'm going to show you what I've learned and it comes down to this. The best way to understand about colour is simply to play with it and learn what it can do.
This video will be perfect for beginners OR those who have only been painting a few years. If you are an experienced artist, you will already know the information I am sharing in this video – but I have an optional assignment for you too!
There will be another assignment tomorrow so rest up!
Optional Assignment
This is an optional assignment but it’s something you can do for the rest of your life and never get bored!
If you are relatively new to colour mixing, I want you to choose one red, one blue and one yellow along with black and white. And then I want you to do as I did – just mix as many colours as you can from those combinations, either in a book, on a chart or on swatches.
If you are more experienced, I want you to take 3 colours you don’t often use (any colours!) along with black and white and then see what mixes you can come up with. I bet you will surprise yourself :)
