Bonus: Let's get personal
There’s no formal assignment today, so you can have a break if you need one. But I would like you to watch this video and I do have an optional painting assignment if you want it.
Today I want to talk about how and why finding joy in your work changes your art – but also your life. The two are interconnected and there’s just no way around that. When you put more of yourself into your art, your life starts to get more full, more creative, more expansive … and it just keeps happening.
Grab a cup of coffee and let me share my story. I think you might be surprised!
Optional Assignment
Tomorrow there will be a new assignment for you, but if you feel like painting today, why not do something a little bit crazy?
Take an old painting – one you no longer love (or maybe never loved) and paint over it. Don’t gesso it or cover it with white paint first – just start working on top, covering up what you don’t like. If you work with watercolour and therefore can't paint properly over an old painting, why not try tearing up a few failed pieces and re-arranging them as a collage.
This process of create, destroy, then create again is so powerful and has the power to set you free!
